Steven Prewitt Skull Base Disease Foundation Presents $600,000 Donation to the North American Skull Base Society

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Perry Mansfield, MD, FRCSC, certified by the American and Canadian Boards of Otolaryngology, Head And Neck Surgery, this month presented a $600,000 donation from the Steven Prewitt Skull Base Disease Foundation to the North American Skull Base Society at its 28th Annual Meeting, February 16 – 18, 2018. The event was held at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in Coronado, California.

The meeting brought together medical professionals from a wide range of disciplines to learn about recent advances in instrumentation and technology in skull base surgery, and gain knowledge in challenging skull base pathology from experienced leaders in the field.

Skull base surgery is a highly specialized, minimally invasive surgical technique for evaluating, diagnosing and treating benign or cancerous growths located on the underside of the brain, the base of the skull and the upper vertebrae of the spinal column.

Steven Prewitt Skull Base Disease Foundation is a multidisciplinary information repository, founded by Steven Prewitt, to advance the education, treatment and cure of skull base diseases.
