Russel was born and raised in the Philippines, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in mathematics. He then pursued his master's in physician assistant studies from the University of Utah School of Medicine. In 2019, Russel moved to San Diego and began working in the pain management field.

Before becoming a PA, Russel served as a Hospital Corpsman for 6 years in the US Navy, where he developed a passion for medicine and patient care.

In his free time, Russel enjoys cooking, working out, hiking, scuba diving, and paddle boarding.
